Chocolate Covered Strawberries

I tried out this look using a look by Leesha called Chocolate Covered Strawberries. It's a matte look using pink and browns and pretty easy, if you ask me. Mine doesn't look quite as pink as hers because she used the Coastal Scents palette and I tried to create a nice pink like hers using two colors. Mine looks decent but I really like hers better. (Mine Coastal Scents palette will, hopefully, be here next week at which time I will try this look again.)

Enjoy the V-day inspired, yummy look!

Colors Used:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion: All over lid and brow bone area.

  • Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Pink Innocence and L'Oreal HiP Shadow Duo in Brazen (pink side) mixed together: all over lid.

  • Bare Escentuals Eyeshadow in Cocoa (light, matte brown; pretty much the exact color of hot cocoa mix!): blended into crease almost all the way across.

  • L'Oreal HiP Shadow Duo in Brazen (chocolate brown): blended into outer-V on top of Cocoa.

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Pencil in Bourbon (brown with teeny gold glitter): liner for lid and lower lashline.

  • Prestige Lash Matrix Mascara in Black.

  • Urban Decay Brow Box in Brown Sugar.

  • Jane Cosmetics Blushing Blush in Plum.

  • L'Oreal HiP Presso Lip Color in Swanky.

Gold Digger

I'm calling this look 'Gold Digger' because I used Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Liner in Midnight Cowboy (gold) as a liner. I don't use this stuff often because I just don't find it something suitable for every day wear. It's very similar to yesterday's look because I used Roach for both looks. But, whatever.

Colors Used:

  • Urban Decay 'Sin' Primer Potion: All over lid and brow bone area.

  • Urban Decay Half Baked (subtle, lustrous bronze): all over lid; used wet as a liner for inner half of lower lashline.

  • Urban Decay Roach (brown with reddish sheen): outer corner of lid, blended into crease.

  • Bare Escentuals Glimpse in Queen Phyllis (shimmery vanilla): brow bone highlight.

  • M·A·C Shadestick in Gentle Lentil (shimmery medium brown): lower liner on outer half of lashline.

  • Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Midnight Cowboy (gold glitter): liner for lid.

  • Prestige Lash Matrix Mascara in Black.

  • Urban Decay Brow Box in Brown Sugar.

  • Jane Cosmetics Blushing Blush in Petal.

  • L'Oreal HiP Presso Lip Color in Fashionista.

Peachy Keen

Today's look brought to you by peaches and the letter Z.

Colors Used:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion: all over lid and brow bone area; along lower lashline.

  • Urban Decay Scandal (peachy pink): blended with Chopper; applied all over lid; liner on the inner half of lower lashline.

  • Urban Decay Chopper (coppery fawn w/ silver microglitter): blended with Scandal; applied all over lid.

  • Prestige Eyeshadow Single in Love (shimmery medium pink): applied to outer corner of lid and blended into outer crease; liner on the outer half of lower lashline.

  • L'Oreal HiP Pigment in Fiery (bright fuschia): applied to outer crease

  • Bare Minerals Glimpse in Queen Phyllis (shimmery vanilla): brow bone highlighter.

  • L'Oreal HiP Color Truth Cream Liner in Black: applied with a thin eyeliner brush to upper lashline.

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero (rich black): applied to waterline.

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black.

The Results

I'm not thrilled with the eyeliner. The L'Oreal eyeliner was crappy. I've only used it a handful of times. When I first bought it application was easy because the product with smooth and creamy. Now it's dried out. I won't be buying it again and next time I do an actual liner versus using a shadow wet I will stick to my 24/7 pencils by Urban Decay. They have never let me down.

Prismatic Eyes

Who says you can only use two or three colors for an eyeshadow look? Today I was feeling daring and decided to do my own interpretation of the ever popular 'rainbow eyes'. It took me two tries to get it right. The first time around I used MAC Shadestick in Beige-ing and the colors 'popped' a leeettle too much. I had to laugh because I seriously looked like a poorly made up clown. So my second attempt I used just my Urban Decay Primer Potion. The 'Sin' Primer Potion is going to complement this look wonderfully! I can't wait until it arrives!

Colors Used:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion: all over lid and brow bone area; under lower lashline.

  • Urban Decay Absinthe (electric green with gold shift): inner corner of lid and lower lashline.

  • Urban Decay Kiddie Pool (ocean blue with iridescent sparkles): blended just after the Absinthe on lid only.

  • L'Oreal HiP Pigment in Beckoning (deep bright blue): just a tiny bit blended slightly into and outside of the Kiddie Pool.

  • Urban Decay Flash (bright iridescent purple): blended over top of and slightly away from Beckoning. (This gave a kind of "is it blue or is it purple?" kind of look. Gradiation is key!)

  • Pretige Eyeshadow Single in Love (shimmery medium pink): outer corner of lid and lower lashline.

  • NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Yellowgold (bright yellow gold, as the name implies): applied using a dampened (not wet) brush to lower lashline.

  • L'Oreal HiP Eyeshadow Duo in Flamboyant (orange side only): blended into the Yellowgold and Love on lower lashline.

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero (rich black): applied to waterline.

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black.
